Bonjour tout le monde, je suis nouvelle sur le forum mais je suis vos discussions assez régulièrement, elle m'ont d ailleurs été très utiles avant mes voyages à paris puis à madrid,
Ma question est la suivante, je souhaite partir à lisbonne , je suis marocaine et je voudrai demander mon visa au consulat de france vu que j'ai eu plusieurs visas délivrés par ce même consulat, cependant certaines personnes m ont dit qu'il n'était pas possible d'aller par avion au portugal (comme première entrée) avec un visa délivré par le consulat de france. Est ce qu'il faut obligatoirement passer par la france avant d 'aller à un autre pays avec un visa shengen délivré par la france ou est ce que ceci ne posera pas de problème étant donné que j'aurai ma reservation d hotel et tous les justificatifs.....
oui logiquement je sais que c'est au consulat du portugal qu'il faut présenter la demande, mais pour ca il faudra disposer de la résa d'hotêl, j'ai juste peur d'effectuer la reservation, de payer l'hôtel et puis qu'on me refuse mon visa ou je sais que je sois obligée d'annuler ou reporter!!! 🤪
j'ai une soeur à paris qui a la nationalité française et qui a l'habitude de m'envoyer un certificat d'hebergement lorsque je veux voyager c'est donc plus sur à mon avis, je risque pas un refus de visa, après je pourrai tranquillement choisir l'hotel a lisbonne et tt.

Oui, mais pour demander un visa Schengen, il faut fournir la copie d'un billet d'avion, non ? Donc si tu demandes un visa en France avec un billet pour le Portugal, ça va faire tiquer...
ben non, je pense d'ailleurs que les gens achètent rarement leur billet d'avion avant d'avoir leur visa! moi l annee derniere en demandant mon visa pour aller a paris , j'ai pas joint au dossier un billet d'avion, y avait juste mon certificat d'hébergement, et puis bien sur le titre de congé , et tous les autres justificatifs d'ordre financier ( comptes bancaires , bulletins de paies....)
Je viens de lire ton post a propos de l'entree au portugal avec un visa francais et ca m'a interpelé car avec mon copain marocain, on se posait exactement la meme question! IL a eu le visa francais, on veut rentrer au portugal puis on ira en france un mois plus tard donc il aura bien aussi un tampon de la france malgré que le premier tampon soit celui delivré par la Portugal.
Je voulais du coup savoir si tu avais au final tenté ta chance, et si oui je voulais m'assurer que tout se soit bien passé pour toi. Aucun probleme a la douane? Ils t'ont posé des questions? Demandé des documents? Pas de souci par la suite avec la France?
Si tu peux me donner ton feedback dès que possible ca serait top, on hesite toujours à acheter nos billets pour le Portugal du coup...

Pour mieux t’expliquer les choses, une fois un visas français sur ton passeport tu peux bien sûr prendre un vol Casablanca Lisbonne, aucun souci ni à la sortie du Maroc, ni à l’entrée au Portugal.
Ton visa est Schengen.
Cet acte-là est légitime, logique et faisable, mais ça sera ton dernier visas, chez les français au moins, vu que la France n’est pas ta destination principale.
Si t’as plus de facilités pour avoir un visas français que portugais, la solution est simple, tu prends un vol Casablanca Lisbonne via paris, ça sera air France.
Le contrôle passeport se fera à paris puisque c’est le premier pays d’arrivée Schengen et t’auras un cachet français, puis ça sera un vol inter espace Schengen donc pas de cachet portugais sur ton passeport.
Tu peux entre temps faire des réservations d’hôtels sur Lisbonne, soit par une agence de voyage ou sur internet si tu possèdes une carte internationale, sinon on pourra t’aider sur ça.

Je sasi qu'il peut y avoir des probleme lors du renouvellement du visa, s'il n'y a pas de tampoins de la France pendant la duree de validité du visa. Or dans notre cas, sur les 6 mois de visa, on a prévu 1 voyage au Portugal, puis 2 AR en France après aussi. Je me dis qu'il y aura donc des tampons de la France sur son visa et que du coup ca ne devrais pas poser de probleme plus tard lorsqu'il demandera un renouvellement du visa? Qu'en penses tu?
Pour le Casa - Paris -Lisbonne, on y a pensé mais c'est 2 fois plus cher de faire un transit par la France, et en plus on a pas tant de temps que ca....

J'ai appelé le consulat de France à l'instant ils me disent que si je fais d'autres voyages en France sur la durée de validité de ce visa il n'y aura pas de problème pour le renouvellement, mais ils me disent aussi qu'on peut se faire refuser l'entrée à l'arrivée au Portugal car le visa est délivré par la France et qu'il s'agit de la première entrée...

Si le visa est français, la première entrée dans l’espace Schengen doit être la France ainsi que le retour vers le Maroc doit être la France.
Si votre destination principale est le Portugal, faudra demander un visa auprès de l’ambassade du Portugal à rabat.
Si nos réponses sur le forum, ne répondent pas à tes attentions & ton souhait, prière de te référer directement aux autorités consulaires compétentes directement.

Toi tu me donnes des infos théoriques ou tu connais vraiment quelqu'un qui n'a pas eu de renouvellement car pas entrée pour la première fois par le bon pays, meme si d'autres entrée par le bon pays par la suite et sur le meme visa?
le priincipe de l espace Schengen, c est que tu seras controlé à l entrée et à la sortie de cet espace, donc si tu arrives via Lisbonne, puis tu vas en France, pour repartir de Lisbonne, et bien ton passport sera tamponné uniquement de la douane portugaise, car pas de controle douanier entre les frontieres intérieures (sauf qq douanier volants de temps, style en ce moment entre la france et l'Ialie, mais tamponneront pas ton passeport pour autant)
Bref, le seul moyen de justifer d'apres ton passeport que tu vas en France, c 'est d'y attérir ou à tout le moins d'y redecoller. Et on peut comprendre le refus de ton consulat quand tu leur redemandera un nouveau visa à la vue de ton passeport vierge de tout tampon de la douane francaise

je vois que ca fait 6 mois depuis ton message mais si tu n y es pas encore allée sache que tu devra aller en 1er en france et de la vers lisbonne puis retourner en france d ou tu reprend ton avion pour retour. pour lisbonne si tu y vas par avion tu devra avoir avec toi le billet d avion de retour vers france et justificatif de reservation hotel car on te le demandera a l aeroport. tu peux reserver dans une pension au centre de la ville (baixa) tu en trouvera bcp a rossionc est un quartier comme si tu dit centre ville de rabat. une fois sorie de l aeroport soit tu prend taxi (15 euro) ou aerobus 1.7 euro si j ai pas oublié c meilleur et moin cher.

j'ai lu avec beaucoup d'intérêt les échanges concernant la première entrée dans un pays X de l'espace schengen à partir d'un visa délivré par une section consulaire d'une Ambassade d'un pays de l'espace schengen Y. J'ai été moi même confronté au même problème. L'ambassade du portugal m'avait délivré un visa court séjour et avant d'aller en vacances dans le sud du portugal, j'ai eu une urgence pour paris.
Par expérience, je dirais pour ne pas être long que pour la première entrée, il faut toujours le faire par le pays qui a délivré le visa. A la suite de ça on peut librement circuler dans l'espace communautaire sans même contrôle ni apposition d'un quelconque cachet sur le visa ...
OPINION: Je trouve cela normal aussi parce qu'envisager d'aller en Allemagne par exemple et se faire délivrer un ticket d'entrée par le consulat d'Italie pourrait faire désordre un peu. Ca pourrait par exemple fausser les statistiques sur les entrées supposées en Italie. Et puis la libre circulation des personnes restera toujours un principe surtout pour ns qui résidons dans les pays du Sud. Nous ne sommes donc jamais à l'abri de tracasseries fussent-elles petites.
On a pris le risque d'entrer en premier au Portugal sur les 6 mois de validité du visa.
Ensuite on a fait 3 voyages en France et 1 en suisse. A chaque fois au départ du Maroc, donc avec tampons sur le passeport.
Donc sur 6 mois, 5 voyages en Europe dont 3 en France. Destination principale est donc bien la France.
On va refaire une demande de visa bientot (les 6 mois sont presques finis), je vous tiendrai au courant du résultat. On verra bien s'ils tiennent compte de la première entrée au Portugal, ou s'ils considèrent qu'avec 3 voyages en France c'était bien notre destination principale et donc normal qu'on ai demandé un visa à la France.

Aucun problème à la douane au Portugal.
Aucun problème lors de la demande de visa suivante au consulat de France (à nouveau un visa de 6 mois) avec cette première entrée au Portugal au lieu de la France.
Mais attention, sur le passeport il y avait déjà 3 anciens visas délivrés par la France et beaucoup de tampons de douane français.
Et après le voyage au Portugal (1ère entrée sur ce visa là), il y avait eu 4 autres voyages en France dans les 6 mois.
Donc au final sur 5 voyages en Europe, il y en avait 4 en France, soit la destination principale.
Je ne sais pas ce que ca aurait donné s'il n'y avait eu qu'un seul voyage au Portugal sur le visa délivré par la France, ou même s'il n'y avait pas eu autant de voyages en France par la suite....

I’m planning a trip to Laos from France with a transit through Thailand involving 2 entries. I might spend up to 7 days max in Thailand (round trip).
The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?
- Number of days spent in Thai territory?
- Entry and exit dates: number of days between the two?
I’m leaning toward the first option, but to avoid any administrative hassles with Thailand (fines, etc.) and before booking my ticket, your input would really help.

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

My wife and I are heading to the US.
On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?
