These are notebook-style photos. Flaws matter less (but that doesn’t stop you from trying your best 😉). For me, the blur has nothing to do with the photographer—Christelle’s images in the *My Atlas* journals are sharp. Here, they’re a bit hazy. It’s due to the camera quality (phone) because VF requires a minimum number of pixels. On the other hand, I have the same issue—I mentioned it to you in a PM—with my RAW-processed shots. They’re apparently too large. Since I haven’t fixed it, I just improvise.

Oh no, I thought you’d solved your problem. You say they’re too large... I thought you had a color issue. Personally, in LR, I export them as JPEGs with resizing to 3000 px on the longest side. So my files end up around 2–3 MB, whereas originally they’re 45–50 MB.

Yes, the consequence is a colorimetry issue. I haven’t tried resizing yet. I’ll test it…

Hello,

C'était Yemen was a great traveler from VF, who kept in touch with Jacques, the author of the book that’s no longer published. But if you follow the link I’m sharing, you can download the 118 pages—it’s a goldmine of tips for trekking as well as accommodations, from the most basic to the most comfortable... and I checked, I downloaded it...

Thanks for the info, but I don’t think I’ll be going there.

Hi Christelle,

It just so happens that my colleagues, knowing I love photography and travel, gave me a "beautiful book" of photographs by Bernard Plossu when I retired.

Do check out a gallery of photos by this great traveler (Vietnam, Africa, India, Mexico, the American West, etc.) who has exhibited a lot. You’ll see many blurry, shaky, or supposedly poorly framed images. And yet, he’s a fantastic photographer! 😊

Hi Christelle

I’m finally finishing your travel journal late (that’s what happens when you rely on VF notifications… which never arrive! )

Sorry, but it didn’t really make me want to go to São Tomé either; I’m still stuck on my impression from a few years ago (too green, so too rainy and not enough sun—already thought it rained too much in the Seychelles )

Now, I’m waiting for the Sumatra update (because even if your journal didn’t make me want to go to São Tomé, I really enjoyed reading it ).

Hey Muriel!

Well, I guess I’ll have to head back to São Tomé in the dry season to see if I can change your mind 😜.

For the rest, we can make a deal: my return to Sumatra as soon as you’ve finished yours on the Seychelles 😄.

Hugs

Deal done 😉 After hesitating (I don’t think there’ll be many readers), I’m still gonna post a review of the Seychelles (I’ve still got the fish photos to sort out 😎)

Oh, I *will* follow your travel journal on the Seychelles... I really loved our trip there, but it was almost 10 years ago already 😢

For the fish, you could post some of them here 😊

If I manage to get a few decent ones out of it, why not 😉

I’ve started my travel journal (I can’t seem to insert a link—sometimes the tab works, sometimes it doesn’t...)

Cool, I’m keen to hear your thoughts after our pre-trip chats, and there’ll be at least two of us following along! 😊 See you soon in the Seychelles, Muriel
