Thank you for your interest in
Canyonlands National Park. While we don't set maximum size requirements for the White Rim Road, larger vehicles may have problems with some of the narrower sections or sections that have overhangs. While many of these larger vehicles - and specifically cab-over campers - have completed that road without incident, there is never a guarantee of safety or that your vehicle will not get damaged. Factors that influence safe passage include vehicle size and capability, driver experience, weather, and road conditions.
In the end, we largely leave it up to the individual to assess whether they can travel the rugged and wild road safely and without incident. Often this means making difficult decisions to cancel the trip or turn around mid-trip. I'm not trying to scare or dissuade you, but I've attached a picture of someone who did not make the correct decision and likely wound up with towing fees and vehicle damage in excess of $8,000.

En revanche, par prudence, je prévois d'y aller pour le sunset avec un guide. J'ai demandé au guide avec qui je suis en contact si je pourrais passer la nuit sur site pour le sunrise, mais c'est visiblement impossible et interdit. Même si je sais aussi que quelques voyageurs l'ont fait sans se faire prendre, je ne veux pas tenter le diable. Du coup, aurais-tu une suggestion de spot pour camper non loin de là, de façon légale sans craindre un réveil brutal en pleine nuit ? Si je ne peux pas être assez proche pour un sunrise, tant pis, mais je voudrais autant que possible ne pas faire trop de route après le "White and Red Canyon" sachant que ma route me conduit le lendemain dans la région de Mexican Hat.
