All Ivory 4x4 Hire vehicles are fully comprehensively insured against collision damage and theft
Just to be sure, am I insured if I try to avoid an animal that cross the road during the day, without driving too fast, without alcool etc... and that it makes me leave the road and have an accident ? I could read that there is sometimes difference between accident with a third part or without a third part... What is the situation with you ?
You are insured and whether there is a third party involved or not, the vehicle will be covered by the insurance and your excess will remain the same.
The renter is liable for payment of the pre-determined (R20 000) excess for the vehicle in case of any
damage to the vehicle and/or camping equipment or loss of vehicle and/or camping equipment
The renter is liable in case of damage or loss of the vehicle or parts thereof for 5% per claim/incident,
minimum R10 000.
If the total damage to the vehicle is less than or equal to R10 000 the full amount is payable.
The renter is liable for the replacement of equipment in case of damage/loss to the following:
o Vehicle:
lights, windscreens, clutch, undercarriage, suspension, drive train components, tyres
including side wall punctures (if a tyre is replaced and it is not the same brand as the
rest of the tyres the renter is liable for a new tyre) and damage caused by water (the
maximum wading depth is 500mm – don’t go deeper!!), sand blasting or salt water
What about standard usage of the car ? As we will use it for 3 months some parts can become used just with fair usage... ?
The cost of repairs as a result of fair usage and no fault of yours, will be paid for by Ivory.

provided
If the vehicle is rolled or written-off, a double excess will apply.
If an accident takes place after sunset
a triple excess will apply – the risk of accidents after dark is very high.
Should the vehicle develop mechanical problems or break down due to bad diesel the renter is fully
liable for the damages and recovery. Be especially vigilant regarding fuel in Zambia and Northern
Mozambique.
All extra equipment that came with the vehicle such as pots, pans, tents, table, chairs, crockery,
