BMTA: 30 buses seized by red-shirt protesters The
Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) reports that a total of 30 public buses have been seized by red-shirt protesters.
The protesters managed to take control of 12 buses today and the other 18 had been seized yesterday, according to BMTA Director Pineth Puapattanakul. Some of the buses have been used to block many roads near the Victory Monument.
Train services at Hua Lampong station suspended The State Railway of
Thailand (SRT) announces that all train services at Hua Lampong Station have been canceled after railways at Yomaraj Station were closed on Monday morning (April 13).
A SRT public relations officer said that all trains would start from Bang Sue Station instead of Hua Lampong due to a mass rally by the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD). So far, only five trains have departed to the North, the Northeast, and the South, while the Eastern-bound trains have yet to resume operation.
The SRT said it would re-evaluate the current situation before resuming all train services.
Train terminal relocated to Bang Sue The State Railways of
Thailand (SRT) has relocated its major terminal from Hua Lamphong to Bang Sue for the sake of passengers’ safety, after many traffic routes in the city have been blocked by red-shirt protesters.
The Governor of SRT Mr.Yootthana Thapcharoen revealed that SRT still operated its service as usual, although there was chaos in many areas in
Bangkok, but for the sake of passengers’ safety, SRT had moved the origin of train route from Hua Lamphong Train Terminal to Bang Sue station, so that people needed not enter the inner area of
