Hi everyone, I’m planning to go to Vietnam in 2026. Direct flights are super expensive, so I’m thinking of making a stopover to visit a city along the way. I’m considering Singapore/Bangkok/Hong Kong, but I’m open to other ideas. The goal is obviously also to get a better price than the direct flight from Paris (Brussels, etc.) to Hanoi. Anyone have a great tip? Thanks everyone

Des vols spéciaux seront cependant organises pour rapatrier ses salaries et clients. La compagnie avait deja suspendu ses vols vers Wuhan

La France a actuellement envoyé, semble t il aux frais du contribuable, deux appareils dont un de l’armée pour rapatrier les francais expatries souhaitant fuir la situation sanitaire dans le pays communiste.

Hi, I’m heading to China at the end of March and I’ve got the question in the title.

Chinese airlines only sell the most expensive tickets on comparison sites or their websites outside China. For the best prices, tickets need to be bought in China. Has anyone ever bought a domestic flight there through a local agency or online? Same question for trains.

Hi there, I just booked a round-trip flight from Brussels to Da Nang on eDreams, with a layover in Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. Does anyone know the check-in procedure for these flights? 1) For flight CX294 BXL-HKG, I’ll need to check in on the Cathay Pacific website, 2) For the next flight CX5552 HKG-DAD, what should I do? I only have a 2h25 layover. Will I need to collect my luggage, go through immigration, and then recheck in at the airport counter, etc.? I’m pretty worried about this layover—I thought check-in could be done on the airline’s website and that my luggage would be transferred automatically during the layover, like with most other airlines... Thanks so much for any help from those who’ve been in this situation!

Hi everyone, we need your advice to avoid being denied boarding at Paris CDG.

We’re planning a one-month trip to China, which matches the 30-day visa on arrival, but with a return ticket from Vietnam. For example, we’d arrive in Chengdu, then travel via Lao Cai to Vietnam, and fly back to Paris CDG from Hanoi 45 days later. Do you think this could be an issue at boarding?

Second option: arrive in Chengdu (*30-day visa duration*), then fly from Kunming to Hanoi 45 days later (Vietnam visa duration), and return to Paris CDG from Hanoi. Thanks for your input!

I’d like to travel to Japan with my son. I read that it’s cheaper to fly via Hong Kong to reach other Asian countries. I tried it, and it’s indeed much cheaper, with better flight times on Cathay Pacific, which is a great airline. In short, it’s better—even though I think if I miss a flight, I’d lose everything.

I’d like to know if it’s easy to get around Hong Kong Airport? Do you have to go through customs again in these cases? Do you need to pay for some kind of transit visa?

If the layover is long, is it easy to head into the city for a quick visit?

Je vais certainement avoir une surprise à l'aéroport de Hong Kong concernant les transferts de bagages mais si quelqu’un pouvait me renseigner avant, ça serait sympa.

En effet, je vais de Hanoi (Vietnam) --> Hong Kong avec Hong Kong Airlines puis Hong Kong --> Addis Abeba--> N'Djamene avec Ethiopian Airlines.

Je dois récupérer mes bagages à Hong Kong puis m'enregistrer à nouveau sur une durée de 2h et 30 minutes. Ma question se pose, est-ce que le temps est suffisant pour me permettre de faire tout ça? ensuite, est-ce que je dois passer par l'immigration?

Hi! Sri Lanka has announced it could run out of fuel in the coming weeks if the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked. The government has implemented a mandatory four-day workweek to save oil, and there are long lines at gas stations due to fears of an early shortage. In Vietnam, the government has warned all airlines that flights will need to be reduced due to a lack of kerosene. The country imports two-thirds of its jet fuel from China and Thailand, but both countries have now banned exports out of fear of domestic shortages. The state is asking airlines to plan ahead and park aircraft to drastically reduce operations, starting with domestic flights and then international ones. International carriers will also need to cut back on their rotations. This will begin in the coming days. 🙁

et si je fais Manille - Hong Kong : env 50€ !!

je vais donc faire Manille - HK - HK- Manille - Coron : env 50 + 22 = 72 € !!??

je ne connaîs pas du tout Pékin et j'hésite à booker le vol suivant: arrivée à l'aéroport de Pékin PEK Capital à 4:35 et départ à 11:00 de Pekin-Daxing PKX. Donc une escale de 6h25 en tout.

du coup ma question: est-ce faisable dans le laps de temps imparti? y a-t-il une navette? bus? métro?

J'ai voulu annuler ce vol avec ma carte visa 1er. Mais, les épidémies, ne fonctionnent pas pour un remboursement. Est ce que vous avez des solutions pour ne pas rester à Shanghai? Since I can’t reach AirChina by phone, I’m posting here to see if anyone has encountered a similar situation and can shed some light.

I’m flying on Sunday for a CDG-Beijing-Canton flight with AirChina, then Canton-Bangkok with Spring Airlines.

I’m a bit worried about my luggage. I’m only traveling with a backpack, a carry-on bag.

I’m not entirely clear on the rules about carrying liquids in the cabin, and I’m hesitant to bring a small toiletry kit (small perfume, cream, deodorant stick—all under 100ml, in a ziplock bag, with a total volume of 350ml).

From what I understand, liquids are allowed but only in checked baggage for domestic flights. On the other hand, it’s stated that they’re permitted in cabin if they meet the 100ml rule and are packed in a ziplock. It’s a bit contradictory, and the airline isn’t responding.

Since my connection is tight and I’m not familiar with Beijing Airport, I’m afraid of breaking the rules, getting held up during security checks, and having to throw away my things.

If anyone can clarify this for me, I’d really appreciate it! !

Bonjour, J'espère que je ne suis pas H-S sinon je supprimerais mon poste. En fait, je faisais mes études en Chine, mais à cause d'un décès, en Janvier je suis répartie en France. Et il y a eu le virus en chine, et l'école nous as conseillé de ne pas repartir. Je ne vais donc plus en Chine, mais j'avais déjà payé mon billet de retour. Et j'ai demandé un remboursement au plus vite (mon billet étant prévu le 13 Février), et on m'a dit qu'on m'enverrait un message sous 6 jours pour le remboursement. Cela fait 15 jours et je n'ai toujours pas de nouvelles. Je n'arrive pas à contacter Airchina sur messenger, mail ou même par appel. Pourtant dans l'actualité de leur site, c'était bien écris que les billets commençant par tel nombre sont remboursés. Mais aucun nouvelle et je ne sais plus du tout à qui écrire... Voilà merci de m'avoir lu...

Je me suis rendu aujourd'hui dans les bureaux de China Southern sur les Champs-Élysées pour avoir quelques infos sur un vol CDG>Canton puis Philippines.

La dame derrière le desk me dit qu'il vaut mieux acheter mon ticket dans une agence de voyage ou sur GoVoyages ou Opodo 🙁 Et que sur le site de la compagnie je risque d'avoir des problèmes de paiements, de bugs, de double débit, etc... et que la procédure de réparation est longue !

Bref, pas très vendeur...

Bonjour à tous! Le 2 janvier prochain je m'envole pour Bangkok sur Air China avec escale à Chengdu. Je sais que cette compagnie est loin d'être la meilleure, j'ai réservé en connaissance de cause. Mais j'ai lu que lors de l'escale à Chengdu, il n'y a pas de "Suivi de bagages" et donc qu'il faut récupérer son bagage enregistrer pour le réenregistrer avant le deuxième vol. C'est la première fois que j'entends parler de ça. Je précise que Air China est la compagnie qui gère mon vol de Paris à Bangkok, donc logiquement les bagages suivent de bout en bout. Des retours d'expériences récents?

Hi everyone! We’re planning a multi-stop trip, starting with Uzbekistan. Has anyone flown with Qanot Sharq before? We’re looking to take a flight from Tashkent to Guangzhou. We tried buying a ticket on their website, but they only accept local bank cards since they don’t take foreign currency. We’ve searched on other sites but can’t find any tickets that include baggage. It’s a bit risky since there’s no info on whether we can buy baggage allowance on their site or how much it’d cost.

Nous avons comme projet de partir 20 jours au Vietnam pour le mois de Mai 2020. Nous voudrions visiter le Nord du pays et aussi le centre. Départ Hoi An jusqu'a Hanoi. Je voudrais être présente le 6 mai à Hoi An pour la fête des lanternes et après visite jusqu'à Hanoi.

Je suis à la recherche des compagnies pour les billets d'avion J'ai lu sur le forum que la compagnie Vietnam Airlines est une des mieux.

Paris / Hanoi est direct, ce que je recherche. Donc pour l'aller, pas de soucis, mais, (parce qu'il y a un mais) le retour est plus difficile. Vu la distance d'une ville à l'autre il m'est impossible d'organiser un circuit en boucle. Paris Hanoi/Hanoi Paris. Je pourrais faire Paris / Hoi An mais il y a une escale de plusieurs heures à Hanoi. (la ville de mon circuit quelques jours après) J'ai vu qu'il y avait un direct Paris /Ho chi Min exploité par Air France. Mais, c'est la question que je me pose : est-il raisonnable d'atterrir à Ho chi Min , de visiter un peu le sud et de partir en train pour Hoi An ?? Sachant que je reste 20 jours. Hi, I just booked a trip to Vietnam on OPODO. The reservation is confirmed, but I can't figure out if they send an e-ticket and when? The site is pretty unclear, and it's hard to get information. I couldn't find any answers on the forums about e-ticket issuance. The airline used is Turkish Airlines, but it's the travel agency (so OPODO) that issues the tickets and sends them to the customer. If anyone has any info or has had a recent booking with OPODO, thanks in advance. Have a good evening

We’re planning to return to China next fall. Destination: Shanghai, followed by a trip through Gansu and then Hunan. I’ll admit that international flights are leaving me a bit puzzled—I’m wondering how far in advance I should book to get the best deals. For most other international destinations, I usually book 6 to 9 months ahead, but for China, it’s a whole different story... For example, when I look at flight comparisons, the best prices are around 500 € or even less for departures within the next 3 months with Chinese airlines (Air China, China Southern, etc.). Not the most practical timing for planning a trip... Those same tickets jump to over 1,000 € for departures around October 20th. 🏴‍☠️ There are also flights in October at very reasonable prices with Finnair + Juneyao Airlines. Has anyone heard of them? I’m worried that if the first flight (Finnair) is delayed, it might be impossible to get rebooked on the next Juneyao flight... Anyway, if you have any recent experiences to share... 😇 Thanks in advance! !

Mon voyage au pays de mon père arrive bientôt. Je dois prendre China SOUSTHERNE et j' ai deux escales cantons 6 h Pékin au retour 9 h .... Impossible de annuler ni même de modifier ces escales pour passer ailleurs ! Question : puis je quand même passer par la chine malgré le covid ? Et ensuite pourquoi certain se fond rembourser voir modifier le billet pas moi ? Je suis passée par une agence TIX grrrrr!!!!

Je pars le 8 décembre pour le sud du Vietnam. je vais monter jusque Buon Ma Thuot et de là je veux rejoindre Paksé au Laos. Il y a un aéroport dans les 2 villes. Je ne trouve pas sur les compagnies aériennes vietnamiennes de liaison vers Paksé. Quelqu'un a-t-il déjà fait ce trajet? Pouvez-vous me donner des conseils et est-ce facile de passer la frontière?
