asie du sud est: j ai pris un trek avec lui car j ai suivi ma co voyageuse qui disait qu il avait de bons avis sur trip advisor et parce que je pensais plus safe de prendre un guide en montagne. oui, mais pas lui! recit : First, it's very expensive - more than the other agencies around. Second, during the trek M Dam keeps repeating french curse words - coz we were french speakers - such as: "SON OF A B*TCH", " F*CKER M*THER", of course (to look funny and
nice with tourists) : "enc*lé" "fi*s de p*te") - and insulted the king and the thai government many times. I am not sure it is very appropriate.
The hike in itself was very dangerous. I asked M. Dim the day before if it was an easy and safe trip (coz i am not very athletic and i wanted a safe hike), i asked him what i had to bring, if i needed good shoes, a waterproof bag etc. He said " no it s fine, just bring water and your swimsuit!". he said also it would be a Very easy walk. he said he himself was an "old grandfather" (still trying to be funny...). but the trip was very dangerous and difficult for all of us : a 12-HOUR walk in the moutains, no path, very slippery on the slopes with the leaves. my 2 others travel mates were desperate just like me, exhausted and really angry. My shoes were destroyed, my trousers torn, coz i fell many times. we also had to cross many rivers pretty deep (i feel lucky my travel mates had a waterproof bag with them to keep my belongings). during that time, Mr Dim kept telling us we walked too slowly, and walked 100 meter ahead of us. moreover, he kept calling me "mini madam" - so has probably to look amusing - because I am only 1m60 heigh. before that trip, i used to think a guide was paid to make a trek
nice and safe. but I could never have imagined such a guy could exist.
if you come and see him, he will probably tell you that he is against trash tourism, exploiting elephants giraffe women and so on. Be CAREFUL! He is worse: a liar, impolite, vulgar, irresponsible, manipulator - who also drives out of the track in the montain OMG!!!-.
there are several better and cheaper agencies around if you want to discover the northern mountains.
for sure this guy is insane.
